Make your own "inky" background paper

For those who asked, here is a step by step on how I created the "inky" background paper on my "Flying Dragons" layout.

Finally, a page where I have Mojo coming out of both eyes! This page was alot of fun and just grew and grew like nutruing a garden (I call that cooking up a page). For The Boxx Monthly Sketch Challenge (Michelle Logan) which I had all kinds of trouble coming up with something that had my spin on it.

Flying Dragons 2012

I re-assessed this pic I took at Xmas 2010 and decided it isn't as bad as I thought (background is very busy- straw-like (edge of reed bed) but no choice in that). I presume these dragonflies were mating, but they kept moving and this was my only opportunity; they then flew over a fence and up a cow paddock!

Creative Scrappers #194 sketch I don't normally fall in love with couch cushions, but on xmas hols I saw this cushion and I just couldn't leave the store without it!

Xmas Fireflies 2012

OK, so these aren't actually fireflies - but the xmas lights on my neighbours topiary trees, but my camera refused to take what I could see (gorgeous little dots like fairies)

Twisted Ribbon phase...

I seem to be in a twisted ribbon phase... quite a number of my pages over the past few months include twisted ribbon. Basically :

1. I attach one end of the ribbon to the page (I've tried stitching it, glueing it, using double sided tape - but the tape seems the best and least messy) - this end I usually hide under something else if possible
2. I take the other end of the ribbon and gentle twist it
3. I take a small piece of double sided tape and put it on the edge of the page where the ribbon will pass over, and stick the end down onto it
4. I may put another piece of double sided tape under the twisty bit to make sure it doesn't catch when I put the page into an album/frame

Thanks so much to Noels. I visited her site this morning and saw her "popular posts". What a neat idea! So I have been back into the Design area to work out how to do that!

I really need to draw up a plan for my blog now.. it feels a little out of control and I seem to have just added stuff without thinking about what it looks like on the main page.. but what the heck! I really don't get enough time in here as it is.

PS it's much quicker for me to get into the setup area now I can click on the Blogger icon. Was that always the case and I just didn't see it? I was always going into my profile to find the link...

Ohhhhhh....

Annette (Pieces of Me) has given me a wonderful gift - a blog award, but in order to display it I've had to look more closing at the Design area which I really don't understand too well, even though years ago I did training in HTML. I didn't realise that the gadgets either side of the main body of text could go on forever - I thought I was limited to four either side!!!! Now I see how Annette and the other bloggers have done that!

I think I've put up my award, plus The Color Room graphic which I've always wanted to do but didn't know how! I was afraid of all the other options in the Gadgets before - I've only used the "lists".

Thank you so much Annette - for thinking of my poor little blog, and for making me work out how to put it up!

angry pink 2012

for Scrap That Song feb 2012 comp, based on the "So What" Pink song. I love this Pink song - mainly because of how angry Pink gets in it and her other songs. It's nice to see an angry girl band after so many angry boy bands!

to the coast 2012

I've finally managed to create a scrap page! Yay! My first in a long time. I had to put painting on the page in order to keep interested in it. I seem to be in a paintery mood still (not complaining about that! It's like 5 or so years since I painted!
