Woodland Fairy 2013

This page took alot of working with hues and contrast to get exactly how I wanted it. I was so inspired by the warm autumn colours in the Archiscraps comp I knew it would be perfect for this photo of my cousinette Violet - if only I could get the blending right. I'm really happy with the results. The photo was taken by Violet's very skilled photographer Auntie. I thought Violet reminded me so much of a wood sprite or fairy that I just had to put some wings on her!

Will come back and put in ingredients.

Archiscraps May 2013 comp inspiration (plus leaves)

  1. It's so wonderful Kylie. Inspired! The wings are a perfect touch. What a little sweetie Violet is.

  2. What a beautiful page and a sweet little girl! All the beautiful colors from the inspiration photo are on your layout and it's lovely!! :)

  3. Truly beautiful work Kylie. I sometimes think paper scrappers don't fully realise just how much work creating something like this really is.

  4. Love it Kylie! You have captured the fairy/woodland sprite idea so well. Thanks for joining us at Archiscraps.

  5. Just wonderful much depth & beauty in the woodland, & your fairy is just delightful!
Thank you for joining us at Archi-scraps!

  6. WOW Kylie - that is amazing - you really have mastered the digi scrapping, maybe i'll get you to give me some lessons :)

  7. Thank you for your lovely comments. Belinda - once you get "layers" under your belt then you can use almost any photoshop type software. There are plenty of tutorials out there, that would probably do a better job than me! Jane - yes, you're right, acceptance of digi scrapping is in its infancy in the scrapbooking community, however, hopefully I'm helping a bit with that. I always start a page from scratch, I never use templates, so it does take some time to put together a page, however, if I'm happy with it at the end then I don't really mind if others don't understand the angst involved in the process. This page was particularly challenging, but I got there in the end.

  8. Hi Kylie,
I read some where in cyber space that you won this challenge and the Archiscraps team were trying to contact you. Don't know if they caught up with you or not....maybe you could get in touch?? I LOVE this's definitely my new Fave of yours...such an ethereal whimsical page. :)

I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment!
