The Power of 2 April 2017

I've finally found a fit for this beautiful post card I received at Christmas of my cousinettes Violet and Olive. After several previous goes, I kind of knew what I wanted but just couldn't make it happen - but with the Archiscraps April 2017 Challenge I finally found ideas brewing in my brain and went with it. YAY.

Every Christmas I get another post card from my cousin and his wife of the family and lately just Violet and Olive and I see them grow and grow, even though they live in America.

The Power of 2 - digi scrapbooking layout - Archiscraps april 2017
I love using black in a layout, particularly in the background, but its tough to balance colours around it so that they still pop and you don't really notice there is alot of black. I love the grungy feel and using metal and alternative products which I don't do enough of. I looked at the sewing machine inspiration shot and picked pieces off it  - even the style of writing on it for my title to pull the page together. It was way FUN.

  6. Glad the Archi-scraps inspiration helped. So clever to use a similar font for your title as the sewing machine! Fabulously feminine page even with all the black & grunge. Delightful! :D
